How does it work?
Participation
As soon as you complete your registration, you will regularly receive emails inviting you to take part in surveys. Each email contains a unique link intended specifically for you: simply click on it to answer the questionnaire. You can complete surveys on your smartphone, computer, or tablet. The questionnaires are available at least in Luxembourgish, French, and English.
The time required to complete the survey, its topic, and the context in which it is conducted are indicated on the first screens, and sometimes directly in the invitation email.
For some surveys, it is possible to pause the questionnaire and resume it a few hours later from where you left off, but this is not always the case. We therefore recommend completing each survey in one go, in a stable environment without interruptions, to ensure your participation is properly recorded.
Simply answer the questions in your chosen language. When you reach the final question, the screen usually contains a button to save your responses. Once your responses have been recorded and the survey questionnaire is completed, a final screen will appear to confirm that your answers have been saved.
ILRES may also invite its MyPanel members to participate in surveys conducted by other international institutes. In such cases, those institutes collect the information provided through the questionnaire. However, these partners do not have access to MyPanel members’ contact details. ILRES also ensures that the content of these surveys does not allow identification of MyPanel members and has put contractual measures in place to prevent this.
Rewards
In most cases, your reward will appear in your MyPanel account within two hours after your participation. Exceptionally, this may take up to a maximum of 15 days.
The amount of the reward depends on the time required to complete the questionnaire correctly.
As you participate, you will accumulate rewards in your MyPanel account. Once you have accumulated at least €10, you can request a payout to your bank account or donate it to a charity. This request can be made in just a few clicks via your MyPanel account. ILRES processes payments requested by MyPanel members on a monthly basis.
Updating your information
From your MyPanel account, you can update your personal information. This includes the socio-demographic details you provided during registration, such as your age, gender, nationality, municipality of residence, household size, and occupation. Since this information may change over time, it is important to keep it up to date.
By updating your information, you will avoid being invited to surveys that are no longer relevant to you and continue receiving the most suitable ones. ILRES uses the socio-demographic data in your MyPanel account to ensure that invitations are sent to people whose profiles match the survey requirements. For example, if a survey is only for people living in the south of the country, invitations will only be sent to those whose municipality is in that area. However, if you have moved from the south to the north since registering and have not updated your details, you may be invited unnecessarily and then excluded from the survey once your location no longer matches the required profile.
Other participation conditions
Registration is free and open to anyone who wishes to share their opinion by participating in online surveys and has internet access. Anyone aged 16 or older and residing in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg or the Greater Region may register.
ILRES relies on the cooperation of its MyPanel members to respond to the surveys they are invited to, but participation is entirely voluntary. You are always free to choose whether or not to take part, and your level of participation will not affect the number of invitations you receive. To help you decide and for transparency purposes, each survey questionnaire includes a screen explaining its purpose and context. For most surveys, reminder emails are sent after the initial invitation. If you do not wish to participate, you can either ignore these reminders or open the questionnaire to indicate your refusal.
However, it is important that participants pay close attention when answering survey questions. Many questionnaires include questions to check this attention, such as a simple calculation or instructions to select a specific answer option (e.g., the third choice). If a participant fails these attention checks, the survey will end, as insufficient attention compromises data quality and renders the participation invalid.
Survey invitations are sent to you personally. You are the only person allowed to use your participation link, and under no circumstances may someone else participate on your behalf.
It is not permitted to create multiple MyPanel accounts; your registration must be unique. If you lose your login details, you can contact the Helpdesk at helpdesk@mypanel.lu, and the team will assist you in recovering them. ILRES carries out checks to identify multiple accounts and reserves the right to delete such accounts, along with any rewards associated with them.
